We Need your help….
The Fashion Show & Basket Dinner (April 21st)is just over a month away and it is the PTA’s largest fundraiser. All the monies raised goes toward the grade level and school wide assemblies & programs that the children enjoy so much. It takes us all to make the event a success. As the saying goes “it takes a village…”
How can you help?
1) Become or solicit a corporate sponsor. Cash or check donations are greatly appreciated and will be used to purchase prizes to be raffled off.
2)Help the Fashion Show Committee with solicitation of local businesses. These donations help make up the baskets that are raffled off during the evening.
2nd-Pool & Beach Fun-(Towels, pails/shovels, pool toys etc…
3rd-Ice Cream Sundae items (cones, bowls, toppings, gift cards etc…)
4th- Sports fun (balls, yard games, anything sports related etc…)
5th Cooking & Baking items (Pans/pots, utensils, cake mix’s, anything for baking or cooking)
6th- Family Movie Night- (popcorn maker, movie size candy, DVD’s CD’s movie tickets, Blockbuster GC)
OR give a monetary donation. Just think, if every student gave us $1.00, we would have $700+! Please, even its spare change. Just give a little.
4)Donate a Family Basket. You don’t even need to supply the basket itself- just donate the items and we will wrap it beautifully!
5)Donate items that can be incorporated into a basket. Think of it as “re-gifting” to the Fashion Show! You’d be surprised how easily we can make the unused, unopened toys, cookware, clothing, knick knacks, candles etc. lying around your home into a spectacular basket!
6)Donate a Gift Card to your favorite store or restaurant. If you like it there, chances are someone else will too!
7)Donate empty baskets, containers, shred, cellophane for the basket showcase.
8)Donate your time. If you don’t know what you’d like to do, we’ll find a way for you to help.
9)Buy a ticket- $42.00 a ticket for a Full Course Dinner @ Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook, NY on April 21st, 2010. Tickets selling quickly, we will be at Mount again selling on Friday, 3/26/10 from 9:00 AM-10:30AM & 2:45-3:45 PM and at the ALS Race for A Cure in the evening. Can’t get to the school? Call me and I will get a ticket to you.

Hi Ladies,
I hope everyone enjoyed the Winter Break! You may wonder how housecleaning and the Fashion Show are related. Well that's the purpose of this e-mail.
With the holidays over and the New Year beginning, it's about this time that we may start to re-organize the rooms and space in our homes. Like they say "out with the old in with the new". If you are cleaning out your house, and you are looking at that gift, thinking "What am I going to do with this?", We will take it.
We will gladly accept any NEW and UNOPENED items that you are looking to re-gift. In the past we have assembled beautiful baskets from your items that are no longer needed. Not to sound ungrateful, but we all receive things at one time or another and think -"What were they thinking when they bought me this?" We will take it!
When you are re-organizing your children's closets and rooms, think of us! If they received a toy, a DVD, a game, clothes, anything that you are not returning - We will take it!
When your husband buys you something- like the newest gadget 'as seen on TV' We will take it! How do you think I got rid of my "Bloomin Onion Maker"?
If you're out shopping and see a great item on sale, please think of Mount. We will take it!
In January we will be sending out a letter requesting donations for the Grade Level baskets that we put together from each grade. Some of the items we are requesting will be-
- Arts & Crafts supplies ( craft kits, Klutz items, crayons, art supplies)
- Toys, Games ( Board Games, playing cards, puzzles etc...)
- Pool and Beach fun (towels, pails, shovels, water games, sunscreen)
- Movie night- (Gift card to movies, popcorn maker, popcorn, DVD's, movie size candy)
These are just a few ideas for items that can be easily picked up for you to donate to the Mount Fashion Show. Also, if you are out dining at your favorite restaurant, please ask if they will donate a gift certificate to raffle off at our Fashion Show.
Once again, we thank you for your support and participation. Without people like you we would not have a great school like Mount! Wishing you and your family a Happy, Healthy New Year!
